The Games We Play
Gerd Kaisa Vorren
In life, we play. We play, we climb, we run, we fall. But at some point, most people stop playing - why? Where does the play go?
The games we play is a dance and parkour performance about the importance of play in life. Parkour is an athletic, urban and acrobatic way of moving. In this performance, parkour and dance come together in a celebration of risky play and a performance experience full of energy.
Using a metal stand, a table, three chairs and a small ball, stories are told about friendship, fear, the playground, the schoolyard, first love, but above all play. The performers are portrayed as equals regardless of gender; equally strong and equally participatory where no one is trapped by classic gender role patterns. Get ready for a fast-paced experience!
