Tabu
Teater Grimsborken
Leah is 14 years old and has been chatting with an older boy nicknamed "iBoy" for some time. She doesn't know his real name and has never met him in person, but is convinced that they are soulmates. One Friday night, she tells her parents that she and a classmate are going to the movies, but in reality she has arranged a date with iBoy. The two girls meet iBoy, who picks them up with a friend. They drive home to the friend's house, but the evening turns out completely differently than Lea had planned, and something goes wrong, terribly wrong. TABU is about young people and online chatting. It's also about "internet dating", "date rape" and the large number of unreported cases. The performance is part of a collaboration with Save the Children in connection with their Netiquette campaign. Tabu is supported by SPENN.no, the institution Fritt Ord and the Norwegian Actors' Association's Fund for Freelancers. Tabu is written by Tom Lycos and Stefo Natsou from Zeal Theatre on commission from STC. The play (original title: Taboo) had its world premiere in Sydney in 2008.
