The performance is based on Irish legends. The story of the spoiled children of King Lir has the redemptive power of art as its main theme. A power so strong that it is able to liberate the king's children from the spell cast over them and reconcile bitter fates - on the individual as well as the collective level. One actor, two musicians, beautiful instruments, captivating music! The text takes the form of a dramatic narrative monologue; music, song and shadow play help to tell the story.Enchantment, sorrow, reconciliation...Three hundred years by the sea of DerravaraghThree hundred years in Moyle's wild wavesThree hundred to the west by Inishglora followsSwans over Ireland Swans over Ireland is the third part of the concert theater trilogy from Kulturproduksjoner, inspired by the music of composer and fiddler Martine Lund Hoel. Her music draws inspiration from different cultural circles, and this has been the starting point for the work on the trilogy, where the music has a large and independent place. The first part of the trilogy was the performance Fela som sang , which drew inspiration for motifs and tonality from the Balkans. Into Peer Gynt's Kingdom was unmistakably Norwegian in tone and theme. In the third part of the project, Swans over Ireland, we enter the Irish sound of Martine, a tradition she has felt closely related to. The text is shaped as a dramatic narrative monologue, interrupted by passages of music, song and shadow images. We want the performance to balance the musical, textual and visual expression, that the three art forms become equal and necessary components of the holistic artistic expression we seek to create. This is the final part of the concert theater trilogy of Kulturproduksjoner, a collaboration with composer and musician Martine Lund Hoel. This time we have chosen material based on the Irish sound of her compositions. The music is, if possible, even more central in this production, and we have an extra musician on stage: Nils Jørgen Nygaard on string instruments. The production is supported by: Skolesekken Hedmark, Arts Council Norway, Prøvekluten, FFUK, FFF.
