"like a movie" is a monologue that addresses racism and violence among young people in a thorough and intelligent way, without simplistic answers or claims. We believe it's important to keep the debate going after the headlines are gone. The play is based on conversations the playwright has had with a young girl who has a background in a neo-Nazi environment. Here we meet the tough young girl Janet after an arson attack by neo-Nazis. As in a movie, events are rewound and reveal a youthful unrest that goes unheard. We hear about two insensitive parents wobbling through life, putting their needs first and leaving behind a lonely and desperate person who longs for an environment to belong to.
