Moritz Rabinowitz: Haugesunder, businessman, Jew. A sharp social critic who warned against the rise of Nazism in Europe, whose voice carried far beyond the country's borders, this is the story of businessman and humanist Moritz Rabinowitz. The Jewish man himself became a victim of fascism's racial politics, against which he strongly warned the Norwegian and international communities through years of newspaper articles. When the Germans invaded Norway in 1940, Rabinowitz was one of the first they caught. Rabinowitz's voice was brutally silenced in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, but his story resonates in today's society.Moritz Rabinowitz was killed in Sachsenhausen in 1942.Produced in collaboration with Haugesund Teater, Det Norske Teatret, Rogaland Teater, Festiviteten and the music company MUNOR.Supported by: Arts Council Norway, Spenn.no, Fritt Ord and Rogaland County.Rabinowitz was nominated for The Hedda Award 2011 in the category "Performance of the Year" and Gullsekken? 2011.
