In Paradis, it's not just a game of jumping paradise; no one notices that Karmen disappears after her grandmother's funeral. While the adults are eating sandwiches, Karmen goes into a small, secluded backyard where she can be alone. She draws a paradise with her chalk. Karmen tries to make everything right, she just has to not step on the lines! Suddenly, someone ruins it for her. It's Georg. Who is he really? He's not a cat, even though he has cat ears and hisses like an angry tomcat. Karmen has taken his place. Georg also wants to be alone. They have to compete to see who gets to stay in the backyard. In Paradis, jumping paradise is not just a game. Every jump and every step brings Karmen and Georg closer together, for better or worse.
