When your mom turns into a monster, a lot of things change...

In the performance, we meet a boy who, in a warm, straightforward and humorous way, tells us what it's like when mom is transformed into an apathetic, big monster.

Through music, sounds and shadowy images, we enter the boy's world, which moves between dreams and reality.

The performance is about how a breakup can be experienced by both parents and children. It's not easy to be a monster, but it's certainly not easy to live with one either...

The performance is based on the award-winning German animated film "Der Kleine und das Biest" by Marcus Sauermann and Uwe Heidschötter.

It's good that teachers and students are prepared for this. The topic of relationship breakdown and parents moving apart can be powerful for many. Perhaps some students are in the middle of the same situation. The story is a great gateway to conversations about the topic both before and after the performance.
