Gudrun Bing and Gerd Bang are neighbors in the same block in Helsfyr. Two very different souls, alone in separate apartments on Christmas Eve. Bang is tall and sassy, and initially thinks she'll be fine without a friend. Bing is kind and cheerful and far more active in the search for someone to share coffee and cakes with. Directed by French theater clown Meriem Menant, the show is a different kind of children's theater performance, where the actors tell the story without using words, and the performance balances between the clown's involuntary comedy and a surprising and beautiful aesthetic. The classic clown is set in a modern idiom, where video animation is used, among other things. There is no text in the conventional sense and the performance carries with it a silence that contrasts with the actors' precise physical rhythms.
