Monster i magen

Experience a funny, surprising and weird monologue performance about grief and monsters.We meet the girl who is busy putting together monster traps in her room. She has a monster in her stomach that she needs to get rid of! The monster has moved into the girl's stomach uninvited and has lived there ever since the girl's mother died. The girl has now tested 947 monster traps and thinks it's time for Monster to get out. But the silly monster won't budge. Monster in the Belly is a playful reflection on the expectations we have of grief and grieving children. Is there a formula for how to be sad? We never get to see the monster, but through monster trap testing and mind-spinning, we join Jenta in exploring troublesome gut feelings, intangible loss and hope - even when the world is not so simple.

Children have just as different a relationship to life, death and love as us adults. Through Monster in the Stomach, we want to provide an introduction to talking to children about emotions. The text by Lina Killingdalen tackles the subject without sentimentality, and with a playful approach. In Missing Her Mother, role-playing is the girl's coping strategy, and Monster is the catalyst for putting the feelings surrounding her mother's death into words. The girl is the angry children's defender, showing that not everything has to be logical to be right.
