Minnenes museum
NIE
In a room filled with memories, five people reconstruct what has been lost. Two brothers, a teacher, a neighbor, a lover.
With warmth, music and humor, they tell stories about someone they have lost, who chose to leave life themselves.
Memories are made of a strange material ? deceptive and yet compelling, powerful and shadowy. We cannot trust our memories, and yet there is no other reality than the one we carry in our memory. Each moment we experience acquires its meaning thanks to the previous one. The present and the future would lose all meaning if the past were erased from our consciousness. Between ourselves and nothing stands our ability to remember. A problematic and fragile protection, and a fantastic opportunity.
Minutes, maybe hours of your own existence that you have forgotten, but that I remember. You live a secret life in someone else's memory. Tor Ulven, poems left behind.
NiE sets up its own little ephemeral museum building. Inside, they perform a show at the intersection of installation and theater. The show is performed in Norwegian and English.
The production premiered on April 26, 2012 at Tullinløkka in Oslo.
