The performance is based on the story of Andras Tamas. At the age of 17, he was conscripted into the German army and sent to Stalingrad. Nobody knows what happened to him, but what is certain is that he was admitted to a mental hospital in the Kirov region in 1947. By 1949, he had fully recovered, but was kept in detention because he didn't speak Russian and no one knew where he came from. Then he stayed there. He was found by chance in 2000, and sent home to the village he left 55 years ago.In a movement back and forth in time, our hero travels through Europe, where he is caught in the winds of history. He tries to find his way home...perhaps to the hot bath he once left and to that one first love. The theater company New International Encounter (NIE) uses most of the tools of theater when telling their version of this strange dark story. Music, lighting, animation, set design, words, song, clown, buffoon, tragedy and puppets are fused together in a - despite the theme - humorous and well-timed performance. The performance is performed in Norwegian, Czech, English and a somewhat unorthodox German and Russian. This gives the audience the opportunity to experience a multilingual art project in a new and innovative way.NIE has chosen to use European destinies as a starting point for the performance. They use everyday stories as the basis for their work. They find the stories in the daily press, on the internet, etc. This material is then further researched through the collection of music, poetry and stories that belong to the region or time period. The story of Andreas Tamas started when they saw a notice about the story in the newspaper.
