Is reality as you experience it? Is it possible to enter Paradise alone? Is love the answer to life's riddles?

We meet the character Liman, one of 9 siblings. He grew up in a small living room in the forest in Hallingdal. His father, a troll of a man, worked as a groundskeeper, and the living room came with the job. Tight quarters and a bad atmosphere characterize the home, but Liman finds joy in the forest and by the riverbank. He builds himself cabins, where he can sit in peace and use his imagination to create his own world.

This will be a quality he continues to benefit from later in life. He goes to sea at an early age and experiences all corners of the world, constantly building new cabins to deal with aspects of life he doesn't understand.

Henning Mankell asks many questions in the beautiful and subtle story of the man who built cabins - a story of love and loss.

The text is translated by Liv Heløe and various musicians will accompany the production.

"The man who built cabins" premiered on March 29, 2012 at Brageteatret, and was on tour in Buskerud in the fall of 2012.
