Kokkatastrofa
Teater Okolo
A kitchen circus flavored with magic, juggling and physical comedy.A warm story about the struggle between two worlds, two generations and two chefs' tenacious fight to create a common dish. What you are served deviates from the recipe!Russian chef Nista Komunista likes discipline. With her traveling kitchen, she travels around with her apprentice Ivanov to give lectures on the good, healthy Russian meal. Ivanov is very fond of freedom, creative chaos and a love of rock'n'roll. In the kitchen, he wants to play with gravity, but the chef prefers to throw vegetables straight into the pot! Nista does everything she can to get Ivanov to keep order, but Ivanov is more playful than good kitchen manners dictate. The production is a collaboration between Teater Okolo and the renowned Spanish director and comedian Adrian Schvarzstein, known among other things from the performance Circus Kletzmer, presented at Porsgrunn International Theatre Festival 2008. The production is made in connection with the 20th anniversary of the fall of communism in Eastern Europe.
