Brutal boxing sports are mixed with anarchic clown logic to create an hour-long sweaty boxing match in the borderland between performance and modern clown art. Klinsj is a performance about a boxing clown who most of all wants to be loved. In close interaction with the clown, musician Magnus Børmark plays with instruments, samplers and effects to create a complex soundscape for the ongoing fight. In the meeting between a brutal sport, the clown's sensitivity, naivety and playfulness, and society's norms and expectations, several questions arise about our way of relating to each other. Some people actually believe that clowns exist to remind us of what it means to be human. I want to box with you! I want to be ugly, but still know that I'm beautiful! I want to run naked through the city! I want to take up space for no reason! I want to swear! I want to be fatter than everyone else! I want to be angry without being judged! I want to be boring! I want to exist without apologizing! I want to love without being ashamed! I want to be with you! Co-producer: Teaterhuset Avant Garden. Supported by: SPENN.NO, Arts Council Norway, The Fund for Performing Artists, The Audio Visual Fund, Trondheim Municipality and Sør Trøndelag County Council.
