a smith is the working name for Andy Smith. He is a British theater and performance artist who now lives in Norway. For the past six years he has worked with and combined different methods and styles in performance, theater, visual art and text. He has created solo works for theater, galleries, the street, internet and classrooms. In 2006 he toured Norway with the performance project The Ibsen Hut where he asked people what they knew and thought about Ibsen.his latest project is called Innvandrer and is a performance about movement and what happens to a person who moves from one country to another. This is a story about identity, people and communication. What did Andy Smith experience when he moved to Norway? How does it feel to be one of the approximately 387,000 people in Norway that we call immigrants? He talks about small, everyday things like opening a bank account and how difficult it can be to buy a bun.
