HELLO

In HELLO we meet three young dancers with roots in different cultures who tell their stories through dance, speech and film. Stories about finding out who you are and where you belong.Abir and her family have fled Yemen. In her culture, girls are not allowed to stand up for themselves, nor dance. But dance has given this shy, quiet girl the courage to make her own choices. Bao grew up in Norway with a Norwegian mother, a Vietnamese father and one foot in each culture. So it can be difficult to know who you really are. For Bao, dancing was a natural way of communicating with others. Miko fled from Eritrea and was on the run for months before arriving in Norway. A young boy with a strong story. Through dance, he has built a life and an everyday life in Norway.HELLO is a beautiful and strong performance about identity.
