Actress Ingvild Hogstad puts her own heartbreak under the microscope and asks: What happens in the brain when the heart is broken? Should we rather say: I love you with all my brain? Because that's where the worst nightmare unfolds. Ingvild is alone on stage, but she has filmed interviews both with a brain researcher and with 10 different people who talk about their experiences of heartbreak. In this way, the audience encounters a myriad of stories that are woven together.

HEARTBREAK moves at the intersection of facts, research, art and private confessions. Based on brain research, social-psychological research, hard-hitting texts, intense music, embarrassing experiences, humor, video interviews with people who share their experiences, and not least film and interviews from the research community, the performance will appear as a performance lecture in a documentary landscape.

The production is produced by Ingvild Hogstad, with support from Spenn, Arts Council Norway, The Audio Visual Fund and Skien Municipality. Heartbreak is a co-production with Grenland Friteater
