We meet Miss Margerethe as a substitute teacher for an hour. An hour in which she can be the ruler of the world all by herself, over everything and everyone, and she makes the most of it. This is an hour on her terms... "Miss Margerethe" is based on the play "Apareceu a Margarida" by Roberto Athayde. Spillebrikkene has created its own version of this play. Inger Gundersen is the director and Hedda Munthe plays Miss Margerethe. Through humor, absurd situations and physical comedy, we want to convey the seriousness that lies in this play. "Miss Margerethe" is a performance that addresses issues of authority, abuse of power and manipulation. Everywhere, people are subdued and manipulated by power-hungry authorities; in families, in workplaces, in the media and in societies ruled by dictators. We hope the performance can help create debates, provoke, stir, maybe even get someone to stand up against this injustice and madness that exists everywhere. The performance is well suited as a starting point for further conversation and discussion.
