The story of Moses is one of the world's most famous narratives - central to Judaism and important to both Christians and Muslims. It is a dramatic story of departure, escape, hope and the longing for a better place.

Moses grows up between two cultures, commits a murder and flees. After 40 years in exile, he encounters the burning bush, returns to Egypt and leads the people out of slavery and into the desert. The story reflects themes such as migration, courage and the fight against injustice – the issues they touch on can be felt sadly relevant today.

Narrator Helga Samset and jazz musician Jonas Kilmork Vemøy create a powerful and evocative performance in the interplay of words and music. Together, they breathe new life into an ancient story and the myths that unite Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

The performance is supported by DKS Akershus and Agder, as well as by the Drammen Sacred Music Festival.
