A school + 1000 meters of vines + four dances = a school day completely out of the ordinary.

Floating Landscape is a site-sensitive dance art event that takes place over the course of an entire school day. Using textile vines, dancers transform the common spaces of the school – both indoors and outdoors – by creating temporary sculptures or tableaux, covering large areas, and concretely tying the vines to the site.

Floating Landscape takes place in the common areas of the school, accessible to everyone. In addition, two classes per day are allowed to participate in the work of transforming the school with the vines.

Floating Landscape was created in 2018, and carried out as unannounced events in various public spaces in Oslo. At the initiative of Nordland DKS, a version of the project for elementary schools was created in the fall of 2021.
