A dance performance about grief, memories and hope for the future. The opening image presents a room where a tragedy has taken place. We meet three women; a mother and her two daughters. There has been a fire in which the eldest daughter died, but her presence feels as strong as if she were still alive. The mother is so obsessed with repressing the memory of the dead child that she overlooks and forgets the surviving daughter. A serious theme, about being seen and loved, but set in a frame that is also humorous and carries hope for a brighter future. The music is based on Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, which directly translates as "standing mother" and refers to the grieving Virgin Mary, also referred to as "the mother of sorrows".
