Du må ikke sove
Ida Gudim/Dag Rune Sjøli/Olga Jørgensen/Martin Ulvin
You must not sit safe in your home and say: It is sad, poor them! You must not endure so fervently the field of injustice that does not affect yourself!I cry with the last breath of my voice:You are not allowed to go there and forget!
The poem "Du må ikke sove" by Arnulf Øverland was published as part of the poetry collection The Red Front in 1937. The text was written as a warning about the rise of Nazism and fascism in Europe, and is considered one of the most famous poems in Norwegian history.
Based on this powerful and topical poem, you will experience opera singing and dancing in a non-traditional and intimate format.
