Den Japanske hagen
Compani TPO / Teater Nova
Welcome to an adventure filled with images and dance inspired by the beauty of a very special garden.
This special garden is like a miniature world of its own and it has a very special story about how it came to be: A brave young boy called Shiro, the first Japanese to leave his small mountain village, set off on a long journey all the way to the sea. When Shiro returned home, he had no words for what he had seen and began to explain the amazing journey by creating a garden.
The performance starts with a short story and transforms into a dance, a journey into the discovery of the Japanese Garden. The garden is recreated through projection from above that illuminates images on a large dance mat, a magic carpet that reacts to physical movements.
Hidden pressure transmitters bring images and sounds to life and along the way, children are led out onto the carpet alone or in small groups to plunge into the same amazing experiences that Shiro experienced on his journey to the sea.
The performance is a collaboration with TPO (Italy).
