Constructed Love
Banality Dreams
CONSTRUCTED LOVE is an absurd physical theater performance that with irony and seriousness deals with the theme of "love." The great true love ... who does not know it? At least from Hollywood movies, romantic novels and advertising posters. But what are you left with when you discover that this love is just an empty shell of clichés and kitsch? With reckless and refreshing humor, banal dialogues and absurd choreography, the two performers reveal the everyday face of love. Yes, perhaps it is not even love, but merely a social convention between people who would rather suffocate in a rigid community than suffer in loneliness.Slowly, however, something begins to emerge as real and true, and in the end the audience is no longer sure whether this jumble of emotions is perhaps the great and true love that we all seek and long for."Dullin's and Holtsmark's superbly knotted relationship choreography reaches the level of Woody Allen's 'Annie Hall' " (-Verena Drosner , Jury, 100° Festival 2007, Berlin .)
