Centralia
Superbolt Theatre
A comedy based on the true story of the place of the same name in Pensylvania, USA. A small town that once had great potential in the local mining industry.
In 1962, an underground coal fire ignited in an unknown manner and it was discovered that the fire was about to spread further. By the time countermeasures were initiated, the fire had spread so far that the state authorities decided it was too expensive to put it out. Instead, they chose to pay the inhabitants of the town to relocate. 20 years later, almost everyone had moved, and to cover it all up, the authorities removed every trace of former habitation. In Superbolt Theatre's production, the audience meets the "last four" remaining inhabitants of Centralia. They have decided to put on a show all by themselves. With all their talents and abilities, they tell their stories and what it is like to live in a city that no longer exists. During the performance, the audience gets to know four strong characters from a very special place.
The performance is performed in English, but with a clear language and a physical expression.
