Carl Fredriksens Transport
Per Jostein Aarsand/Solfrid Molland
A story that evokes strong emotions. Carl Fredriksen's Transport is a musical storytelling performance about the largest rescue operation in Norway during the Second World War. More than 350 Jews and 600 resistance fighters were transported to Sweden in the winter of 1942/43. The refugees were secretly taken from their hiding places to a nursery at Carl Berner.
There, they were hidden under tarpaulins on trucks that drove at night. It was very dangerous. The story is called Norway's "Schindler's List", but is still quite unknown.
The performance follows characters on three transports:
The Jewish girl Sara - she who loved to sing
The London brothers - the scrap dealers
Vera and Tibor - the two Czech children
