"There are almost only good reasons to cover our tracksAnd there are stories we're not tired ofWe're just afraid to tell them" Teater Joker invites you into a darker world. A world where the person you trust disappears and your childhood friends are not what they seem. Where the hero might be a knight Bluebeard. Where the reality you know turns inside out. Cuckolding meets seriousness. Anxiety meets happiness. The story of these five childhood friends is told through changes, transitions and images, where the actors' bodies and voices form the framework for the audience's imagination. "Brothers" is largely based on poetry, but not only as literature. Also as body language, movement and imagery. The chaotic, spatial and hybrid expression becomes a meeting between different forms, artistic and cultural. The performance avoids the one-dimensional and approaches something young people are now familiar with: virtuality. Teater Joker uses a technique that is related to virtuality: Bande mimée; cartoon mime. "Brothers" continues to research the idiom Teater Joker used in the performance "Rike Per". The stage is almost devoid of props, and the actors' bodies function as tools and expressions. With transition techniques that the young people are familiar with from the movie, the scene changes and the action is tied together. The actors wear masks in several sequences, and the performance revolves around a keyword such as duality, both thematically and expressively. She has been awarded the Norwegian Arts Council's Playwrights' Grant to work on this performance. The production is a co-production with Det Åpne Teater
