The performance invites you to spend an hour with a tree. Circus artists, musicians and dancers intertwine around the tree, inviting us to meet it with new perspectives. From the roots through the trunk and up to the treetops, Aeldre takes the audience on a journey that affirms life and the many colorful seasons. Alma, the beech tree and the great oak, are just some of the different stage spaces for the performance. Aeldre embodies the stories that have been waiting to be told by the tree and all those who have shared these places – past, present and future. New memories are spun in and around old ones. In addition to the visual and auditory experiences that take place in front of us, one can also imagine invisible elements, such as the imagination or thoughts of the audience that fly with the wind and travel around the stage space to be danced and played with.
“Green moss. A gigantic birch at the entrance to the forest. Our secret, our own tree friend. Big thick branches extending out from the moss-covered trunk. The branches grow so that it is possible to climb up if you know the right technique, where to put your foot and where to hold on. My cousin, who is 20 years older, used the same tree as a playground when she was growing up, as did my mother, who is now 70 years old.”
Aeldre is a multidisciplinary site-creating work, where contemporary dance, contemporary circus and traditional music meet to pay tribute to one of nature's wonders – the trees.

Stage size:
Feel the tree. Approximately 8 meters in diameter circle around the tree. Height of the tree: at least 15 meters.
Room or area specifications:
A large deciduous tree, we can send technical drawings for specifications. The tree is chosen in consultation with us.
Audience location:
In a circle, or semicircle around the tree. Positioning depends on the tree in question, and the audience is welcome to move around during the performance for a better view.
Technical equipment (must be rented or brought along):
Sound equipment must be rented, see technical rider for details. We need a PA suitable for the size of the planned audience. The sound can either be set up with several speakers around the audience (for a circular audience) or with a frontal set up with two speakers. We play both from the tree using in ear monitors and wireless instruments and from the ground. We need one monitor, two microphone stands with boom arms and 3 DI boxes. The show can be performed without a sound technician and speakers, but the sound quality is definitely better with rented equipment.

https://entmanagement.se/aeldre-technical-information/ Aeldre is rigged in a tree. We bring all rigging equipment. Older people need a sound system and a sound technician. Aeldre can be played in daylight without light technique or in evening/night with light technique. We do not offer a light design at the moment. The light technician can set up a general lighting of the tree and an LED strip marking the boundary between stage and audience.
