At last year's Showbox festival, we were visited by three performing arts producers from China, who were very enthusiastic about Norwegian performing arts, especially the dance performance Sans, by and with Piero Issa and Ole Petter Knarvik, with Jon Tombre as director and Ole Hamre as musical consultant.

– It's so fun , says Piero Issa and tells: Sans was created with inspiration from our trips to Afghanistan and with the desire that it could be played anywhere in the world without technical needs . Now they are going to Beijing and Shanghai, among other places, and during a three-week tour, play Sans in a total of 7 Chinese cities.

The tour plan was already set in February/March, and now in July Piero and Ole Petter are traveling to China.

– The tour schedule includes several large stages, so it will be exciting to see how Sans will be received there. We are very excited and think it is great that Chinese producers want to bring in our production – and to be able to share this performance with Chinese audiences.

The premiere of Sans was originally planned to take place in a refugee camp in Beirut, but due to the political situation and travel advice from the embassy, it was instead held at a Red Cross refugee reception center in Spain.

The fact that Sans will now be shown in China is seen as confirmation of the international scope of the performance, says Piero. – We are very excited!

The Chinese delegation was supported by the Norwegian Consul General in Shanghai.
