The Girl with The Ugly Face

Lisa gets angry easily. When she gets angry, she gets very angry. She has never hit anyone or thrown stones at anyone, but when she gets angry she says mean things.

One day she says so many mean things that everyone else at school shouts "Boo, you're ugly in the face" Lisa goes home thinking that no one understands her. Not the other children, not the teachers and not her parents. 

This is a show about language and anger. It's also a show about friendship, and about how it's possible to make things right when everything feels bad.

The performance is developed in collaboration with Asker Municipality, and with support from Arts Council Norway.

The Girl with The Ugly Face is based on conversations and workshops with children about feelings of anger, loneliness and guilt. The feeling of being included and not being included have been important in the process. We have collaborated with children aged 6-9 years when developing this performance.
