Three giant ants arrive in the schoolyard. They don't speak, but go about their business, organizing and placing what look like breadcrumbs in different formations. The students join in and help the ants. They work together to make patterns, routes and trails out of the crumbs, transforming the schoolyard into a giant visual work of art.

The ants communicate through body language, clicking sounds and active involvement by the students. The children are part of a creative process, where they create, build, dance and collaborate. The children choose how they want to interact with the big ants; some follow the ants' initiative, others find their own ways and some may join in a little ant dance. Finally, all the students help the ants collect the crumbs in large bags, and we wave goodbye to the ants as they leave the schoolyard. In Maur, the children get to explore and participate in art, and they learn about cooperation and respect for nature.

Ants was originally produced as Ants by the Australian company Polyglot Theatre and has been further developed for DKS by Rom for dans.
