Press release from the Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs, May 25, 2007:
The government has today allocated NOK 416.7 million of the profit in Norsk Tipping AS to cultural purposes.
NOK 167 million goes to the Cultural Rucksack, NOK 124.7 million to cultural buildings and NOK 125 million to Frifond.
This year's increase of NOK 6 million for The Cultural Rucksack will be used for pilot projects to expand the program to upper secondary schools in selected counties.
- Pupils in upper secondary school are in an important phase of their lives, and we want to offer the Cultural Rucksack to slightly older pupils as well," says Minister of Culture and Church Affairs Trond Giske.
In addition, NOK 6 million will be used to continue the investment in the regional science centers. These are responsible for disseminating information in their respective regions and together cover the entire country.
