Two performances with Feil Teater at Det Norske Teatret

This fall , Feil Teater will move into Scene 3 at Det Norske Teatret. They will be there for a whole year creating theatre for children. First up is Frankenstein , a horror for children aged 10 and up. Then The Perfect Premiere (and what was a bit stupid) is an interactive walking performance. We are so lucky that we have a collaboration between Showbox, Det Norske Teatret and Feil Teater, so that both of these performances will be part of the festival program!

The young student Victor Frankenstein has locked himself in his castle, and here he is working to achieve the impossible: to create life in a dead body. When he finally succeeds in bringing the creature to life, it is anything but what he had dreamed of. Victor throws the creature against the door, and this sets in motion a series of horrific events. And when horrific things happen, you only have two options: you can lock yourself in, or you can ask for help. But who wants to help a monster?

Frankenstein is a horror for brave children and squeamish adults, in a newly written version based on the classic novel by Mary Shelley that has given readers chills for over 200 years. Rotten brains, doomed villains and grotesque science are stitched together into a story about what makes a creature a monster, and about wanting to be feared when you can't be loved.

The perfect premiere (and what went a little wrong)

It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Norway's most famous artistic duo is returning home after more than ten years abroad. Director Verner Bang-Wisløff and star actress Angelica Dybwad have taken the world by storm with their impressive productions. From Berlin to Beijing, from Cairo to Kuala Lumpur.

Now they are taking over Det Norske Teatret with a performance that is guaranteed to take your breath away – and you are invited to the world premiere! Fasten your seatbelt and get ready for a spectacular rollercoaster of a theatrical experience, unlike anything else you have seen.

And perhaps most importantly: We guarantee that the premiere will go exactly as planned, and that nothing stupid will happen.

In The Perfect Premiere (and What Went a Little Stupid), the audience must go behind the scenes to solve an exciting mystery. In rooms not usually seen – backstage, in workshops and prop warehouses – the audience gets an insight into the machinery behind one of Norway's largest theaters.

Feil Teater received the Hedda Prize in 2023 for best performance for children with Nordpolen Magiske Trikketransport , and in 2025 they were nominated in the same category for Flukten fra Botsen. Feil Teater works to ensure that theatre is inclusive, builds community and is affordable for everyone.
