Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you never had to die? Or what your own death would look like - dramatically, like a scene from a movie? These are the questions that are at the center of FOREVER, a performance where both humor and seriousness can play together.
Through interviews and workshops, Swiss choreographer Tabea Martin has explored children's thoughts on life and death. The result is a performance full of imagination, adapted by five professional dancers.
In FOREVER, we meet ancient gods and creatures awakening from death, in a world where immortality is the theme. The production uses gallons of theatrical blood, buckets of tears (really!) and a stage floor that can fortunately be washed. It's a playful and visual experience, but also touching and thought-provoking - all conveyed in the visual language of children.
How do children view dying? What do they imagine about life after death? Maybe you've thought about it yourself - how much should we really talk about death with children? Or is it still something we'd rather not talk about?
Languages: The performance is performed in Norwegian, Swedish and English.
Target group: From 10 years
Duration: 1 hour and 10 minutes
Venue: Black Box Theater
This is not a spoiler, but useful information to help you decide if this show is right for you. The show contains a lot of theatrical blood and uses cartoonish and absurd representations of violence and death. The themes explored include death, dying, grief and loss. The dancers depict different ways of dying and talk openly about the desire to die. There is also a recreation of a funeral.
