Capiche - Teater Manu/Unge Viken Teater
Thursday, November 28
Welcome to an inspiring workshop during the Showbox festival, organized by ASSITEJ Norway.
Are you a professional performing artist who wants to explore how humor is used in performing arts for young audiences? Then this workshop is for you! Led by Danish theater company DON GNU, participants will be challenged to experiment with their own creativity and vulnerability through physical theater, poetic elements and humor.
The workshop combines warm-ups, physical exercises, improvisation and choreography, all in a safe space where it is allowed to make mistakes and learn from them. This is a unique chance to develop both your physical skills and your creative thinking, and to use humor in performing arts for the young audience.
About DON GNU
DON GNU creates action theater and dance combined in a playful and poetic universe.
The company was established in 2010 by choreographers Jannik Elkær and Kristoffer Louis Andrus, who are jointly responsible for the artistic direction. Today, DON GNU is one of the country's most touring companies, which, with extensive touring activities in Denmark, has also toured with performances in large parts of the world, including all the Nordic countries, South Korea, Canada, India, large parts of Europe and Cuba.
The name DON GNU is built around the paradox of being one and many at the same time. Don as an individual and Gnu as a herd animal, describes the relationship and dynamics in the collaboration between individual and group. That we are accountable as individuals, but only understand and live in relation to others.
The workshop is part of Showbox 2024 and organized by ASSITEJ Norway.
Duration 10:00 - 16:00 with one hour break.
Lunch is not included.
Events are free for members of ASSITEJ Norway.
ASSITEJ Norway is part of the world's largest network for performing arts for young audiences and is a member organization that promotes professional performing arts for young audiences in Norway and around the world.
