Encounters. Oslo

How do you speak with a stranger when you cannot see their face? Could a live, faceless conversation open the way to more intimate and authentic communication? What does it mean to represent someone else? Is representation the same as acting? These are questions explored in Encounters. Oslo .
Encounters. Oslo is both a performance and a real, first meeting between two teenagers. On stage, two performers are connected to two hidden teenagers. They are invisible both to the audience and to each other, and via microphones and earphones, the performers repeat everything the hidden teenager they represent says, word for word. The performers lend their voices and bodies to create an unscripted, authentic conversation. In Oslo, we meet Nosizwe Baqwa and Cecilie Solberg on stage. The teenagers remain anonymous.

And here I am
A powerful and funny performance about finding oneself. The play is based on the life of Palestinian artist Ahmed Tobasi – performed by him.
We follow Tobasi's journey from the war-torn streets of Jenin refugee camp, to captivity in an Israeli prison, via armed resistance to the transformative power of art and theater. From exile in Norway back to his homeland - where the struggle is far from over.
And Here I Am is not just a story from the past, but a tale with a burning current relevance told with warmth and humor.
Date : Tuesday, November 25
Time : 12:00–13:15
Place : Teater Manu, Christies gate 5
Language : Arabic, with English subtitles
Target group : From 15 years old

Haunted house

In Haunted House , Ingri Fiksdal and Helle Siljeholm have delved into the archives of Kunstnernes Hus , which is soon to be 100 years old. Kunstnernes Hus has always been owned and run by the artists themselves, and is an important place for art in Norway. Fiksdal and Siljeholm have searched for the stories that shape this place – about how the house and art influence each other, and how this is connected to power and politics.
They investigate how everything from management and politicians to critics and artists themselves may have left their mark on the building itself. What remains in the walls after almost a century of art, debate and decisions? What happens when an art house becomes a kind of living being – with memories, conflicts and secrets? Through choreography, sound, light and scenography, both the building and its history are haunted by the voices that have filled it: artists, directors, critics and politicians.
Date : Wednesday, November 26
Time : 09:30–10:00 (Invited school classes participate in a 45-minute workshop following the performance)
Location : Artists' House, Wergelandsveien

Trust me for a while

Three puppeteers try to find out what really happened when one of them inherited an old ventriloquist puppet - with a strange and disturbing history.
But as they tell the story, the boundaries between past and present begin to blur. What is reality, and what is just part of the story? When the puppeteers lose control, things suddenly get scary – because what happens is happening here and now .
The performance is like a nightmare you don't want to wake up from: funny, uncomfortable and hypnotic at the same time. Here you meet a failed magician, a jealous doll with a knife – and the question of who is really pulling the strings: the man or the doll?
Date : Wednesday, November 26
Time : 1:30 PM – 2:15 PM
Place : Teater Manu, Christies gate 5
Language : English
Target group : From 15 years old

Forces

FORCES is like being pulled into a futuristic ritual where everything around you becomes a little more intense. Three raw performers take us into a universe full of forces – earth, technology and man – that merge before our eyes.
Like cyborg warriors on a kind of spiritual mission, they allow their bodies to become something completely different, something greater. It's about letting go of control, being part of something collective, and experiencing a kind of liberating transformation.
FORCES celebrates the power of life itself – the strange, the wild and what doesn't always make sense, but still hits home.
Date : Thursday, November 27
Time : 1:30 PM – 2:20 PM
Place : Black Box theatre, Marstrandgata 8
Target group : From 14 years old
