Premiere: Pink Ashes – masculinity, peer pressure, belonging and outsidership

Pink Ashes is a new dance performance by Tony Tran, which takes as its starting point violence in close relationships, but also moves into themes such as masculinity, peer pressure, belonging and exclusion. Why do we become aggressive? Why do we follow the group, even when it feels wrong? What happens to us when we lose control?

Pink Ashes is a physical and intense performance about violence, boundaries, identity and being part of a community. On stage we meet five performers with different bodies, experiences and perspectives. Together they explore what happens when anger, pressure and the need for control take over. How can violence arise both between people and within ourselves?

Pink Ashes creates a visual and physical universe that can be beautiful, uncomfortable, funny and violent through dance, sound, light, smoke, explosions and play.
