Push is a 2-year project working with five partners to push and develop thinking, ideas and the artforms within theatre and dance for children and young people in Europe. Push will focus on three topics that are currently underexplored in work for young audiences:
- Gender and sexual identity
How can we use performance to explore and challenge portrayal of gender and sexual identity with children… And should we?
- MigrationHow can we talk about migration and asylum with young people using performance? How do we include minority voices?
- (over)ProtectionHow can we protect children without restricting their childhood? How can we balance risk and protection, wildness and safety?
The partners are Scenekunstbruket (Norway), Imaginate (Scotland), Culturcentrum Hasselt/Krokusfestival (Belgium), The Ark (Ireland) and Aaben Dans (Denmark).
